♥ from Sorella Miller week 68 (12-15-2021)

Aloha!

I need to thank my high school English teacher for making me read Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet because last p-day we went to Verona! Honestly one of my favorite Italian cities I've visited so far! We went and saw Juliet's balcony and tomb and then walked around the colosseum there, it was beautiful. There is a castle/overlook of the entire city called Castel San Pietro, unbelievable! I'm definitely coming back.

The weather is getting colder here, lots of rain, and hopefully snow soon, if it is going going be this cold it might as well snow.

Missionary work is going well in Vicenza! We have a lot of amazing people who want to learn more about Christ so now we are really focusing on making and keeping commitments to help them exercise their faith in Christ!

We had a ward Christmas party in the  American ward this week and that was a blast. It reminded me of Honolulu West with the military ward out there, some of the very best people! Can you believe Christmas is in 10 days! So exciting!

I read a little Italian children's story  called, Le Bufana. It is about this little old lady who was invited to travel with the Wiseman to see the Christ Child in Bethlehem but she was too busy with all her chores that she misses the chance to see Him.

Now, it is an Italian tradition that every year on the night of January 6th (the feast of the 3 kings/wisemen) she visits all of the children's homes and leaves treats in their shoes still searching for baby Jesus. (Definitely a tradition I want to adopt with my own family one day :)

I think it is easy to put ourselves in the shoes of Old Befana. How often do we get so busy and wrapped up in our chores and routines that we accidentally miss Christ during Christmas, and even broader, that we never save room for Him in our lives in general? I hope that each of us can do a little better this season to remember the Savior and to make him the most important part. I know He lives! I know he was born as a baby in a stall, in the most humble of circumstances, and that He loves us!  ❤

Have the best week!
Amore, SOrella Miller
