Aloha !!
I can picture my brother, Miles, rolling his eyes, that I would open with ALOHA, but it is a real thing! I have heard it said 100+ times in the week I've been here, it means hello, goodbye, amen, love... all of it Haha. It is taking some getting used to (esp bc it was something I thought was gaggy before coming out here lol) but the people here genuinely mean it when they say it and it is really neat !!
So... long story short, my first week in the field doesn't look like anything I thought it would. We arrived at the airport and found out that Monday morning (hours before I landed in Honolulu) there was a change in the covid tests, only certain places were accepted. SO, I get to quarantine for another week haha. But it is all good! I'm living with 5 other sisters in our two bedroom apartment- it is cramped but it has been fun! This quarantine has also been an awesome time for me to get in some quality language study so that's a plus !!
My quarantine goal: READ THE BOOK OF MORMON COVER TO COVER IN 2 WEEKS! I am doing good so far and it has been way cool! I know that the Book of Mormon is true! Like the Bible, it is another testament of Jesus Christ and talks all about His life and ministry in the Americas. I LOVE learning more about my Savior !!

I'm currently living in Miliani for quarantine but my first zone will be in Kaneohe ! It is the more jungly part of Oahu, & it is where they filmed Jurassic Park ! Crazy cool! I'm super pumped to get there and start loving the people!
I have met my first companion ( my amazing trainer) over zoom and she seems AWESOME! Her name is Sister Peterson- she goes home in 3 weeks but I'm super excited to learn from her while she’s here! It is going to be an adventure!
Hope this week has been a good one for everyone- I love and miss you all. Thank you for all the support, leaving for the field is the hardest thing I've ever done & I miss my family more than anything, but I am so excited to be a missionary for my Savior. I'm so excited to be an instrument in His hands to share His love for his children here on the Hawaiian Islands. I know that He truly loves all His children, and that includes YOU!
While I'm praying so hard to get to Italy, I know I am in Hawaii for a reason. & I know that I will absolutely love it here- a mission isn't about a place, it is about the people 💛 Hawaii has my heart for as long as the Lord needs me here :)
