Aloha,
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY !! This week has been amazing. There is something good every single day!! I started a "tender mercy" notebook- every night I write the date and then 1-2 sentences about a little miracle that happened during the day. It is helping me to see God's hand in my life every day, because I know He is involved in every detail of it. That is my challenge for you this week: before you go to bed we each night, reflect on your day and find a tender mercy. When we look for the good, we find it :)
Sister Peterson and I went on some more amazing hikes! I tried some other crazy foods including baby octopus. We got together as a district twice this week to play basketball and that was a BLAST! We continue to stay crazy busy with member lessons and uplifting messages about Jesus Christ, and I am starting to adjust to mission life (as well as the Hawaii humidity)
Sister Peterson returned home on Monday, and it was hard to say goodbye; she will always be so special to me ( the very best trainer, I scored big time) I have a new companion from the Mililani zone named Sister Hart! So excited to serve with her and learn from her!
I attended my first baptism!! It was the best thing ever. It was for two of the sweetest girls (ages 8&10) and the spirit was so strong the entire time. I was able to play the piano for the service ( the first time since I've been gone and I have really missed it)! It is a cool tradition in the Polynesian islands to give a flower lei on special occasions, so we went to Target- and here they have an entire refrigerated aisle of so many variations of beautiful leis- so we bought some and the cute little girls were in flowers up to the top of their heads by the end of their baptism from all their friends and family. haha.
Hawaii continues to amaze me- I am blown away by the views and the people! I love you all so much! Hope all is well! Have a fantastic week!!
Amore,
Sorella
