Aloha!
This week has been way fun with Thanksgiving
in the middle! I don’t think I have ever eaten as much food as I did on
Thursday- the members are so selfless and giving! Our first appointment was at
1, and I knew we had another dinner appointment afterwards, so I told myself to
go light to be able to fit two meals- that plan lasted about 10 minutes haha. I
felt like I was going to explode! But it was SO WORTH IT !!
I got to experience some Hawaiian Thanksgiving
culture by helping a sweet auntie prep her Imu (underground oven) for all the
turkeys. Service opportunities in Hawaii are so fun because it is so different
than anything we ever did in Idaho. From gathering banana leaves for cooking,
or clearing out jungle using machetes…It is always an adventure & I love it!
We got transfer news on Saturday, I CANNOT
believe I have been in Hawaii for 6 whole weeks! All of the sisters in my zone
are staying which is so fun! We are losing some amazing elders to other zones
but I ‘m excited to meet the new missionaries coming to Kaneohe (aka the best
zone in the mission ♡)
Tomorrow is December 1!! Christmas is in 25
days!!! All 4 of us sisters that live in Waimanalo have made it a
"thing" to take a picture in front of every house with fun Christmas
lights!
Even though November is over, I hope we
continue to be grateful for all that we are blessed with! We can all continue
to be kind this holiday season- if you haven’t heard of LIGHT THE WODLD you
should look into it. If you text LIGHT to 71234, it will send you a daily text
leading up to Christmas, with a service idea, or way you can give during the
holidays. Sister Hart and I are committing to do every single day of light the
world and it is going to be SO SO SO fun! Do it with us !
I know I say it every week, but I seriously
love you all so much and am so grateful for each of you!
