Aloha!
My last week of quarantine- check ✅
While it hasn't been ideal, and certainly not easy, I have learned so much in the last two weeks about myself and about my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have spent a lot of time in my scriptures & I finished my goal to read the Book of Mormon on Friday ! It was such a neat experience- reading it quickly helped me a lot with the timeline and order of events. I'm so grateful for the scriptures. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are evidence of Christ and of God's plan for each of us !!
With quarantine wrapping up tonight, it is finally starting to feel real- I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called to share His gospel in Hawaii and Italy. I'm sure I am in the same boat with several other missionaries, but it feels like it has been a long path to get to right here. Between online MTC, reassignments, & now quarantine, I can't believe it is actually happening and I couldn't be more excited!! Tonight is dinner at the mission home in Honolulu (with all the new missionaries on Oahu) and then Sister Peterson (my amazing trainer) will pick me up and take me to my new home for the next while in KANEOHE !! & so the adventure begins!!
Happy (belated) Halloween !! I hope you all had a great holiday & awesome costumes! President and sister Walker (my mission president) made sure to make Halloween memorable for us missionaries and it was SO FUN!! they planned a mission wide "zoom"bie (haha) party with different games. We had a lip-sync video battle to diff Halloween songs & played mission Kahoot. It was a PARTY!! Our apartment (the sisters that I am in quarantine with) all dressed up/ matched and that was wayyy fun too.
Something that I love that I have been told often on my mission is, "if you aren't having joy, you aren't doing it right". I love that because the message that we share is one of Jesus Christ, a message of hope & joy.
I think that saying goes for life too, " if you aren't having joy, you aren't doing it right".
There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon , in 2 Nephi 2:25 that reads, "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." I promise that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father want us to be happy, & that is why Jesus Christ atoned for each of us and has give us the gospel to help us find the JOY
that doesn't mean it will be easy (especially in our CRAZY world) but a life with the gospel is a joyous one- because of Jesus Christ ♡♡♡
I love you all so much! Have a fantastic week and Happy November !!
Amore,
Sorella Miller
