Where to start? Lots of change this week but life is good.
I'm covering the Kalihi and Moanalua 1st wards in Honolulu West & the people here are amazing ( who am I kidding, i have loved the people I have served around in every single area ♡ Hawaii has the best of the best)
Happy late 4th of July !! thank you to all the veterans and families that have sacrificed so much for this amazing country! It was a special Sunday yesterday, esp being in the Moanalua ward because we are 2/3 military (Tripler & Fort Shafter). Lots of tender testimonies on freedom and the things we take for granted. I am proud to be an American, no doubt ❤
I am excited to be serving here, it has taken some time to adjust but seriously the people are so humble and genuine. There are a lot of Filipino members in the Kalihi ward and I am excited to get a small glimpse at their culture, they are the cutest aunties :).
I am so grateful for the little reminders that God gives to help me remember that He's got me :). I love the quote, " God sent His only Begotten, so we would know we are never forgotten" I have felt that this week in so many ways- I struggled with the news that I would be leaving Maui, I was only there for 6 weeks, wayyyy too short, & finally felt like we were making strides in the area when I found out I was coming to Hon West. But in just a week I have seen so many tender mercies:
(1) @the carwash, I ran into a lady named Kuuipo that sister Hart and I had met and started teaching in Kaneohe !! When I left for Honolulu, I didn't think I would see her again. Come to find out, she is meeting w the Aiea elders and coming to church every Sunday!! It made my heart so happy to see her 💕
(2) in 3 days, I met 3 men who served in Italy!! Brother Kilian, Elder Brashears, & Brothers Stephenson! What are the odds? I have used the little Italian I know more in the past week than I have over the last 9 months combined! No coincidence that this is the area preparing for me for my next big transfer (🤞❤)
God is so good!
Love you all- so grateful for each of you!
Amore,
The Pad....
