♥ from Sorella Miller week 45 (7-12-21)

Aloha!

It was a week.

I got to go on exchanges with Sister Bassir this week- I love that girl! She is reassigned from Portugal and had been in Hawaii for her whole mission (11 months) so she totally gets how I am feeling, we are in the same boat. We messed around w Portuguese and Italian and they are suprisingly similar- Latin roots :).

Getting to interact with the Honolulu sisters has been a HUGE blessing of being in Hon West. I missed them! They are such great examples to me and some of my best friends 💗

We were able to go and do some service at the food bank on Friday! We love community service! They ended up having a bunch of over ripe bananas that they were throwing out and a lady came over to me with a bag full and said, " do you know how to make banana bread? Could you use these?" Little did she know, I LOVE banana bread haha. So now, I have a surplus of ripe bananas & am SO excited 💛

Sister Sanders and I tried our hand at 'chalk art proselytizing' (we doodled common questions people might have and our phone number @different bus stops around Kalihi) and surprisingly got a few contacts from it so that was fun!

Staying busy and working hard, we are praying to find someone to teach! Lots of contacting and trying to meet the ward members ♡

Sister Sanders and I were asked to speak in sacrament meeting (ugh! Public speaking is NOT my forte) but it went alright. Grateful it is over :). But it was a neat opportunity for me to study faith this week in preparation. We were asked to speak on President Nelson's April 2021 talk, "Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains" & my very favorite part was towards the end. He was telling a story about these saints in Tonga who had prayed that the rain would stop for a conference they were planning. Unfortunately, the rain did not stop. But pres nelson says, " they had faith sufficient to stop the rain & faith to persevere when the rain did not stop" as I self-evaluated my faith (& lack thereof) I was able to set some goals to strengthen my trust in my Savior. I want to strive to have "faith to persevere" when my storm doesn't stop, trusting & knowing that God is in control!

Vi amo tutti! Stai al sicuro e sii felice!  Dio è buono!

Amore,
Sorella Miller

When you have a second, reread his talk, it is absolutely amazing ! ⬇️⬇️⬇️
