Aloha!
I'm literally checking things off my bucket list and it is amazing! Wednesday, we went to Venice! I have been dreaming of going there for so long! It is one of a kind, there is nowhere else in the world quite like it! The city has taken a hit with covid (all of Italy really) because tourism is so low right now, but it was BEAUTIFUL! You walk out of the train station and are straight on the grand canal! We are going back next week with some other missionaries! I can hardly wait, but in the meantime, there are so many people to find and teach and love!
We met a man named Francesco who wants to learn how to come closer to Jesus! Well, we can help! I had my doubts at first, sometimes Italian men are confusing haha, but he really is amazing, and it has been super exciting! He came to church via zoom, and we meet every Saturday! It feels like an exchange, we share the gospel, and he helps us with our Italian! Win-win!
Being away from home during the holidays is never easy but what an amazing time to focus on the Savior! This season softens hearts and is amazing to see people come together to serve and just be more like Jesus Christ! Christmas brings out the best in people! There was a Christmas video put out by President Russel M. Nelson that I would encourage everyone to watch, it is short but powerful! Christ is truly the source of all peace and hope year round!
