Due to covid numbers, we have been asked to stay in our assigned areas which has been hard because there are so many Italian cities that I’m dying to explore, but we are finding ways to still experience Italy. This last week it felt like I got to spent it with my grandparents! We have the best senior couple living in Vicenza, who I absolutely adore! They took us up to this little mountain town called Asiago. (and in case you are a cheese expert, yes, Asiago cheese is one of its most renowned products)
Viviane’s faith continues to amaze me! This week we taught the word of wisdom, and she didn’t even hesitate when she realized she would need to make some changes! I am learning so much from her more than I will ever teach her, but that sums up my whole mission pretty well!
My new companion, Sorella Stephenson, and I are having a great time, the gelateria next to our house reopened and we have gone more times than I’d care to admit. (But I won’t have gelato 5 minutes form me at home, so I’m making the most of it now)
The work continues to increase, which is such a blessing! Vicenza is keeping me busy and I’m all for it!
When I was serving in Honolulu, Sister Uhi always said, “don’t count the days, make the days count” and I’m feeling it more than ever on a short countdown. It applies so much further than a mission though, that’s life! “Everyday is a gift, that’s why they call it the present!” Make the most of every day!
Amore,
Sorella Miller
